Community Meal

“For I was hungry and you gave me to eat; I was thirsty and you gave me to drink; I was a stranger and you took me in”  (Matthew 25:35)   Each week, a small group of dedicated parishioners put these words of Jesus into practice through their service in our COMMUNITY MEAL MINISTRY. On Wednesdays, for the last year and a half, from 4:00 until 5:00 in our gym, this wonderful ministry offer meals to the hungry of our community.  About 25-40 people depend on this ministry for a small dinner.  The food is donated by ministry members as well as from other individuals.  On last...

St. Andrew Parish is excited to announce that we are a partner in a new community outreach program for Calumet City Youth. C.R.E.W. (Community Resource and Education Workshop) is an initiative with the Calumet City Police and Fire Departments, Housing Authority of Cook County and community churches.  With the support of local businesses and other organizations, C.R.E.W. will provide a structured after school program, giving young people from 1st grade and up a safe and productive place to learn and play after school.
