Restoring Our Home

The Last Word

Father Jack invited me to write a short, “Last Word” article about our “Restoring Our Home” Capital Campaign.  Initially I was going to repeat my thanks to the many parishioners and friends, my fellow committee members, and our parish staff for their encouragement and generous support in making this campaign a success.

Another easy paragraph to write would be to list all of the improvements we were able to achieve over the past three years.  But I would like to address a different idea: Stewardship.  Stewardship is defined by the Merriam-Webster on-line dictionary as “the activity or job of protecting and being responsible for something.”  Whether we gave of our time, talents or treasures, we have demonstrated our stewardship for our beloved St. Andrew the Apostle Parish.  We have used the gifts God gave each of us to serve Him.  By joyfully giving and not asking for anything in return, we have, in a small way, acknowledged our appreciation to our Lord.

Let us continue our tradition of stewardship for our parish.  Any further donations made to St. Andrew in memory of thanksgiving will be designated to the St. Andrew Preservation Fund.

Once again thank you for allowing me to participate in “Restoring Our home”.
